Spring is in the air here on Hilton Head Island, and one of
the events ushering us into the warmer season is the Hilton Head Island Boat
Show. Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3 from 10 am to 6 pm guests will have the
opportunity to visit Windmill Harbour and the South Carolina Yacht Club on the
Intracoastal Waterway.
This fantastic location offers boaters the chance to sign up
for in-water sea trials. Windmill Harbour Marina is one of only three private
locked harbors on the east coast. There are 250 slips with rentals and storage
available to the public. Currently, ownership of a boat slip in this
unparalleled marina is available as well.
A portion of the proceeds from the Boat Show are given to
the Bob Pancoast Sailing Scholarship Fund. JR Richardson, the founder of the
South Carolina Yacht Club, from the beginning wished to provide all children
the opportunity to sail. Members of the South Carolina Yacht Club, in keeping
with that tradition, founded the Bob Pancoast Sailing Scholarship Fund. This
scholarship fund enables children to take part in the SCYC Junior Sailing
Program.
