The RBC Heritage Golf Tournament on Hilton Head Island

It’s here, The RBC Heritage Golf Tournament! This is one of the busiest weeks on Hilton Head Island. Opening ceremonies kicked off with cannon fire and the hitting of a golf ball into Calibogue Sound. Not only does The RBC Heritage provide the opportunity for enthusiasts to follow their favorite golfers, but also to provide a lively week on Hilton Head Island and in Harbour Town.

 Friday, April 17 a Boeing 787 Dreamliner will fly over the 18^th hole at noon. Saturday night will host contests for tournament goers who “Get their plaid on,” and a concert featuring The Headliners both on The Heritage Lawn. Sunday includes the end of the tournament and closing ceremonies. Also Sunday, there will be a boat parade at the 18^th Fairway.

So have fun, and remember to mark your calendars, because in just two weeks, Hilton Head Island and the South Carolina Yacht Club in Windmill Harbour host the Hilton Head Island Boat Show!

Spring is in the air here on Hilton Head Island, and one of the events ushering us into the warmer season is the Hilton Head Island Boat Show. Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3 from 10 am to 6 pm guests will have the opportunity to visit Windmill Harbour and the South Carolina Yacht Club on the Intracoastal Waterway.

This fantastic location offers boaters the chance to sign up for in-water sea trials. Windmill Harbour Marina is one of only three private locked harbors on the east coast. There are 250 slips with rentals and storage available to the public. Currently, ownership of a boat slip in this unparalleled marina is available as well.

A portion of the proceeds from the Boat Show are given to the Bob Pancoast Sailing Scholarship Fund. JR Richardson, the founder of the South Carolina Yacht Club, from the beginning wished to provide all children the opportunity to sail. Members of the South Carolina Yacht Club, in keeping with that tradition, founded the Bob Pancoast Sailing Scholarship Fund. This scholarship fund enables children to take part in the SCYC Junior Sailing Program.
