A trip to Honey Horn on Hilton Head Island

Over the past weekend, I had the opportunity to meet a beautiful mother and daughter duo at Honey Horn on Hilton Head. Bullet and her foal Honey Horn May are on loan to the Coastal Discovery Museum and are staying in the newly renovated barn at Honey Horn. The two are there to educate and promote the history of this once widely used breed. According to the South Carolina Marsh Tacky Association, there are now only 236 living marsh tackies in existence and as of June of this year, the breed became our state horse. If you have not visited Honey Horn, I strongly recommend you check it out. Pack a lunch and stay for a while. You won’t want to leave.
