Summer Solstice Today

Summer Solstice

For those of us not in either Polar Region, the Summer Solstice is the day of longest daylight and, conversely, the shortest night. Our sun is at its highest position. This event has been a cause  for celebration since man could celebrate. My favorite interpretation is that of the Druids who glorify the event as an idealized wedding of Heaven and Earth, which then lead to the belief that June is a lucky bride’s month. Likely, I will not be the only person on the beach raising a plastic glass of bubbly in the  time-honored tradition. May we all have a pleasant Midsummer’s Night Dream………
